This Week’s Books
Blink: The Power of Thinking without Thinking, by Malcolm Gladwell. Gladwell shows how the difference between good decision-making and bad has nothing to do with how much information that can be processed quickly, but on the few particular details on which people focus.
The Universe & The Teacup: The Mathematics of Truth and Beauty has been in print for years, but is a classic, so I’m re-reading. It gets me out of the same ol’ , same ol’ business rut. Worth reading just for the prose - but also educational and promotes creative thinking.
Who would have ever thought math could be poetic?
