GM Recalls 2M Cars - what if they did that with PCs (and software?)
From today’s NY Times “General Motors Corp. (GM.N) on Monday said it was recalling more than 2 million vehicles to fix a variety of potential safety defects, most of them on cars and trucks sold in the United States.”
There’s always been a lotta grumbling about PCs - “what if cars broke down as often as PCs - we’d all be dead.” At least when my computer crashes, I don’t die a fiery death (although I once worked for a computer company whose hard drives often actually caught fire…and the CEO wondered why we lost the account to Compaq). Hmmm….What would happen if “they” recalled computers and software? (Yeah, I know - not practical. We’d be reduced to using Big Chief tablets and No. 2 pencils - but we also shouldn’t pay for bug fixes in so-called “upgrades” and “new releases.” )
Now, can anyone tell me why I shouldn’t go back to Appleland sooner rather than later?
