Spend Your Dollars Where Your House Is

I recently joined the IABA (Independent Albuquerque Business Alliance). Why? Because something like 95% of New Mexico’s businesses are small businesses - with many of those being micro-biz “Mom and Pop.” Most jobs created in the U.S. are in small businesses. And, most business taxes are paid by - you guessed it - small businesses. Plus, it’s just much more fun to shop locally. Walk into a Wal-Mart anywhere in the U.S. and you could be - well - anywhere in the U.S. AIBA’s goals are simple: to promote and organize the independent businesses of our wonderful city; in other words, to think outside the big box.

So, support your community’s independents - and keep more dollars in the local economy, which is good for everyone. For lots more information - including your community’s alliances, check out American Independent Business Alliance.
