Podcasting - All New, All You, All the Time.
The first all podcasting radio station is happening in San Francisco. KYCY, an AM station, has been converted to all listener-submitted content and renamed KYOURadio.
Too bad I can’t get it in Albuquerque! Great counter to the mass market “Top Vanilla” programming we get way too much of…should also be good for that old-time Founding Fathers’ version of Freedom of Speech.

Well who needs the radio anyway Mary? That’s really the point of many podcasts - new media, that is personal and portable. Treat yourself to a $99 iPod shuffle and you can take all the podcasts with you. Try our BizzyCast at http://www.barefeetstudios.com or check out my new video blog at http://www.inthetransition.com
I’ll stop now as this already sounds a lot like a commercial. And if you make it to KYOU, look for Ryan Ozawa, one of our own Hawaii podcasters.

There you go again! But seriously - you’re right. What’s great about KYOUR is that it’s bringing new technology/new ideas to the masses…new concept via old familiar medium. Moving from “out there” to general acceptance and use.
Your comment re “who needs radio” is also applicable to “who needs MSM?” There was much hoopla about how bloggers were impacting the last election…What a lot of the spinmeisters have yet to “get” is that the masses can now be better informed than ever, more easily than ever…a revolution in thought not seen since Gutenberg and printing presses. We peasants not only can read…we can access all kinds of info and talk about it right now, as it happens. I’m optimistic that it will become increasingly difficult for people to be flim-flammed by governments, companies…and each other.
