Smash & Grab Marketing - Comcast

Continue to see/hear stories to add to my “Service America Hall of Shame” Comcast, already there, continues to add tarnish to its brand…Steve Yastrow over at Tom Peters posted about his latest problem with Comcast.

Man, can I relate. I’m being bombarded with “JUST A DOLLAR A MONTH” so-called special offers from Comcast, with all that teeny-tiny fine print. Hmmm…let’s put on the reading glasses, get out the magnifying glass and turn on the really bright light…turns out the offer is available to new customers only. Regular rates apply after first month. Number of channels vary by level of services. High-Speed Internet Speeds are for comparision and not guaranteed…Restrictions may apply.

Hmmm…not only does Comcast do “smash and grab” - they’re also doing a slightly refined “bait and switch.” When are companies going to wake up? Customers always a choice. If nothing else, they can chose (as I did) to live without whatever…As I did with - gasp - cable.
