Take somebody new and weird to lunch today.
So sayeth Tom Peters. As much as us “normals” roll our eyes at the freaky folks among us…it’s the wild-eyed ones who get us all out of our rut and off the middle line in the road (where you run a good chance of becoming road kill). And, those who believe the impossible can be done - even if they fail - often end up making a big difference. Every company should have its “freak group.” Although I wouldn’t recommend letting them talk to customers too often - or your CEO if he/she doesn’t have a sense of humor. (Been there, done that with a couple of my staff in past lives. Ouch!)
Happy Friday! And, if I call you to have lunch today - honest - I mean it as a compliment!
(Of course, my being “normal” is a matter of opinion. But, I can impersonate “normal” for really, really long periods of time.)

I am such a big believer in that! And love the idea of a “freak” department
But why not let them speak with the CEO? If (s)he cannot take it, then you got the wrong one and (s)he needs replacement.
We should also find ways to do virtual blog luncheons - so that people in New Mexico could have lunch with Euopeans…or New Englanders!
