You’re Nobody Until Somebody…

nobody logoloves you. - Dean Martin. Love Dino, but even as a much-beloved only child, I thought this sounded pretty limiting, not to mention depressing. Let’s all retire to a hot bath with a rusty razor blade now and get it over with.

WARNING: This blog post has no social or business redeeming value whatsoever. It does, however, bring some pomposity pricking to your attention, for reflection and enjoyment.

This seems to be my week for an ongoing mid-life epiphany (Crisis? Nahhhh. For me, those typically involve inappropriate men, large amounts of money and fast sports cars.) Ran across the new “Nobody club” (snaps to Shel for bringing it to the Corante community’s attention.)

Tired of trying to be a somebody? Despair of ever being on the blogger “A” list? Never got to sit at the cool kid’s table in high school? Manolos hurt your feet? Don’t see how a Torture (Um, Miracle) bra can help your career?

Well, now you too can join the ever-so-exclusive Nobody Club! You can even get a button for your site! (And, as soon as I can figure out how to get the dang thing to show up on this site, I’ll have one right here…some days technology and I just do not get along.)

Happy Friday - I’m giving myself the day off in honor of my mid-life - um - journey. Yeah, yeah, that’s the ticket! I’ll be back to business - as usual and unusual - on Monday.

(Okay, I just can’t resist making one serious point. I bet President Bush thought Harry Taylor was “just” a nobody. Hmmm. It only takes one. Rosa Parks and a bus driver; Gandi, “just a little clerk” and the British Raj also pass through my snapping synapses.)

Welcome aboard, Mary! We may be nobodies, but at least we are not alone :-)

Mercedes Benz - poor customer service ROI…

Mary Schmidt makes a great point in the comments of a previous post where I outline Mercedes’ mangled response to a catastrophic engine failure that happened with our E320 while my wife was driving my son to his birthday party…….
