Have a Cool Yule, Y’all!
From Coney Island to The Sunset Strip
Somebody’s gonna make a happy trip
Tonight, while the moon is bright
He’s gonna have a bag of crazy toys
To give the groanies of the boys and girls
So dig, Santa comes on big
He’ll come a callin’ when the snows the most
When all you cats are sleepin’ warm as toast
And you gonna flip when Old Saint Nick
Takes a lick on the peppernint stick
He’ll come a flyin’ from a higher place
And fill the stocking by the fire place
So you’ll, have a yule that’s cool
(Lyrics from Cool Yule, recorded by Louis Armstrong and Bette Midler)
I’m taking a brief vacation from blogville, due to the holidays (and client month-end deadlines looming. How do I do this to myself???)
So, to all of you and yours - Have a Cool Yule! Appreciate your blessings. Celebrate. Have some silly fun. Grin and bear it when Uncle Earl tells “that story” for the thousandth time at the dinner table. Live in the moment for a bit. Because, as Frank Sinatra once told Quincy Jones, “Live every day as if you think it’s your last…because some day you’ll be right.”
And, if you really want to get silly - go elf yourself! (I tried, but my photo just wouldn’t work.)
