Confessions of a Feed Junkie
TGIF! It’s Martini Time Again!
I confess. While you can subscribe to my blog’s RSS feed, I don’t subscribe to anybody’s. Why? Because I quickly became a twitching wreck with a Pavlovian drool response to “new news.” So, I had to stop cold-turkey. I now browse my favorite blogs regularly and follow their recommendations for other blogs. I can do this at my leisure - with morning coffee, over lunch or with adult beverage in hand (and without drooling, at least before the second martini…) Then some days all I do is read blogs, click on links, and download good info - it’s called “business development.” (With a healthy dose of entertainment thrown in.)
(Okay, I’m not really telling all here. I do have a customized Google home page with feeds of NYT, BBC, Wired, Slashdot and others…but that’s [sniff] sooo Web 1.0, isn’t it? The kicker is that it works for me. I check it when I have time and read as I can.)
Have a great weekend! I think I may drive the back road to Santa Fe and play tourist - perhaps have lunch at the San Marcos Cafe. Then on Sunday, I’ll be skiing (badly and slowly, but laughing a lot) up at Santa Fe. (Ah, the joys of living in New Mexico!)
For all the irreverent, serious ‘n silly end-of-week posts, visit my new category, Friday Martini Time. People tell me my off-topic Friday posts are some of their favorites, so I made them easier to find.

You don’t subscribe to any RSS feeds? Wow! You are one dedicated blog reader. I could never keep up if I didn’t subscribe to any, though with Firefox I could set up a set of blogs and have them all spawn open at once. I wonder how 450 blogs would look like across the top of my Firefox browser????

450? You subscribe to 450? Wow. If I did that, I’d long be dead.
Thanks for dropping by (and yours, Phil, is one I visit frequently.)
