Martini Musing - Blogs That Make Me Think

You’re thinking, “But who wants to think during Friday Martini Time?” Well, if you read the following blogs, you won’t be sorry! They’re both fun and educational.

Opinionated Marketers Always thought-provoking
Christine Kane Wonderful singer/songwriter…and thinker.
Monk at Work logoMonk at Work Because business takes up too much of your life not to love it. And, love that logo!
The Journal Blog. Common sense and plain talk about politics and micro biz. Because you can’t separate business from politics. (How do you think we get those oh-so-fun taxes to pay…and Wal-Mart doesn’t ?)

Then, circle back around to Susan and Marketing Roadmaps, who originally tagged me to list blogs that make me think. (Susan, I hope better late than never…)

Last but not least, a “do-gooder” site/blog: Get Tipsy! with ideal bite. A “sassier shade of green.” No deadly serious, terribly earnest lectures - just simple (and slightly irreverent) ideas of how we can all help make our planet a better place to live. You can also sign up for the quick, daily tip. (They even have a cocktail glass on the site, no wonder I like it!)

To add to the conversation…what about you - Mary Ellen, Marc Orchant, Chris Rivard? (Albuquerque bloggers all!) What blogs make you think?

Have a great weekend! I’m finishing up some work this afternoon and then taking off to listen to some Salsa Under the Stars, presented by the NM Jazz Workshop at the Albuquerque Art Museum. I won’t be - um - thinking, at least not about business.

All my Friday Martini Time posts
(Some silly, some serious, some useful, some not so useful…you decide.)

If you’d like to leave a comment, please do so. It may take a bit to show up since I hate making people type in little letters (I can’t read most of them myself) - so I moderate all comments. Feel free to disagree - debate is healthy. However, I’ve blacklisted the worst obscenities, including the “f” word, as part of the troll wall.

How fun to see the Monk out in the world!

Thanks for the mention, and I love the “because business takes up too much of your life not to love it” line. Is that yours, or did I (or someone else) say that?

Hi Mary - great martini post. The one blogger who never fails to make me thing is David Weinberger, author of Everything is Miscellaneous, Small pieces Loosely Joined, and co-author of The Cluetrain Manifesto. His Joho the Blog has been a staple in my aggregator for many years and the blog for his new book has some terrific, thought-provoking interviews and ideas about how tags and other metadata are irrevocably changing our all-too-human predilection to catalog and organize everything in our world.
