Mktg Messages: Barbarians At the Gate

People constantly surprise me. Stupid people do smart things. Smart people do stupid things. And, clients whom I would think would be super conservative, due to their industry or location, want to burn the box, blow out the doors, let the dogs out! Then there are people you’d think would be way out there – leading, bleeding, screamin’ edge. Surprise! They want to somehow change the world while remaining nice and safe behind their castle walls (counting and recounting their ever-dwindling pile of gold while the manly man knights argue about the size of their respective – um – “lances.”)

arrow slit viewTip: Peering out an arrow slit and watching the barbarians beat their drums isn’t going to do much for you…it’s a very narrow world view…and it’s not really safe in there either. Gates can be broken. Ladders and shovels have been around for a while now. And, people have been going around walls since well before Hadrian’s time. If nothing else, you’ll starve to death waiting for the heathen horde media and bloggers to go away and the peasants to bring grain customers to find you.

If you’d like to leave a comment, please do so. It may take a bit to show up since I hate making people type in little letters (I can’t read most of them myself) – so I moderate all comments. Feel free to disagree – debate is healthy. However, I’ve blacklisted the worst obscenities, including the “f” word, as part of the troll wall.
