Powerpoint: Get to the Point!

For those of you who are desperately trying to end Powerpoint co-dependency within your company and with your customers - Try Pecha Kucha - 20 slides, 20 seconds each (Via Seth Godin, who channels Dan Pink.)

Of course, there are those that the only way you’ll get the dense, crammed, jammed slides out of their hands is to pry their cold dead fingers off the keyboard. (This is particularly a problem with people who spent a lot of time in Corporate America. We were trapped into presenting to each other and the poobahs a lot and there was always a prescribed format…zzzzzzzz…so the deadly PP pontifications have turned into a security blanket for the lazy and mediocre.)

If you can’t get the idea across in 400 seconds, it’s either not that great an idea or you probably shouldn’t be presenting it. (It also helps if you actually have an idea before you start making all those purty slides.)
