Leadership: Uh, What He Said
In my years of travels, both in and outside of Corporate America, I’ve talked to and worked with many “leaders” whose only apparent qualification for the role is being a white male of a certain age. No thinking or reading ability required. (I’m still convinced one man truly could not read the memos he kept requesting.) Now, now, c’mon back guys - this isn’t a male-bashing post. In fact, I’m recommending you read an excellent post by a white guy of a certain age, Lee Thayer, about buzz addiction and leadership The Tongue Always Outpaces The Understanding.“It’s not critical to know what you are talking about. It is only necessary that others not know the difference. The victim is the concept. In this case “leadership.”
(For those of you who haven’t memorized seen the movie Office Space - the above image is of the boss, Bill Lumbergh, played by one of my favorite actors, Gary Cole.)

If you’d like to leave a comment, please do so. It may take a bit to show up since I hate making people type in little letters (I can’t read most of them myself) - so I moderate all comments. Feel free to disagree - debate is healthy. However, I’ve blacklisted the worst obscenities, including the “f” word, as part of the troll wall.
