Just Don’t Do It
In a strategic planning seminar series some colleagues and I do for nonprofits - one of the questions we always ask is: “What would happen if you didn’t do it?” “It” being a task, process or report. We all often confuse activity with results and intent with productivity. (Tip: Efficient isn’t the same as effective.)
So, just for today, before you start calling, typing, dashing madly to do 400 things…ask yourself, “What would happen if I just didn’t do it?” Would anybody care? Would they even notice?
