On Vacation!
The bags are packed, the house sitter is sittin’ and I’m headed to NYC and then Europe for my first “completely away, no business, no email, no voice mail, no computer” vacation in nearly 15 years. (A whole two weeks without email - what will I do?) I won’t be posting (or moderating comments) again until the week of October 29. So, here’s some vacation reading for you - several of my past posts and new blog recommendations.
Posts:

The Magic Cookie Jar (Start-ups - have some money stashed no matter what.)
Everything You Do Is Marketing. (Yes, really.)
Lotsa Choices = Less Sales
Marketing is Easy! I’ll Read A Book!
Marketing Messages: “Well, Isn’t That Special!” (Before blowing bazillions on marketing speak, channel your inner Church Lady.)
Emarketing: Toddlers With Loaded Guns
Start-Up Success: Break The Clocks!
Start-Up Suicide: Fear of Heights
YIPPEE! WEB! or yawn, web?
Stupid Brand Tricks (Why on earth did KFC decide they needed a logo that can be seen from space?)
Are You A Rounding Error? (Or, why big companies don’t return your phone calls…or money.)
A Really Fun, Smart Blog: Bye, Bye, Buy If, like me, you’re trying to simplify your life, spend less, enjoy more…this will make you both laugh and think.
The Leader’s Journey with Lee Thayer. Smart, pithy and to the point. Leadership takes a lot more than manly man words (or - ahem - playing dress-up in a flight suit.)
And, remember Busy Ain’t Necessarily Productive.
“See” ya in a couple of weeks! Oh, and leave a comment here with any suggestions for things you’d like me to write about in blog posts and my new eletter (which I’ll be launching in November.)

Smallbiz Brain: Daniel Pink…

Wow, a vacation! A lot of people are taking that these days. Two weeks of no email and no computers should be good for you. Sometimes, we just need to get away from the hustle and bustle of our everyday hectic lives. Thanks for leaving us something to read though. I especially loved The Magical Cookie Jar. I guess we’d all better make sure there’s something left in there once in a while!
