Martini Musing - Super Powers, Mild & Otherwise

Mighty MouseScott Adams has a laugh-out-loud post on his mild super power. His is that he studied economics in college, so he has a working knowledge of all that voodoo. He then asks readers if they have a similar “mild” super power.

Well, at the risk of sounding like an arrogant Aries snot, mine is the ability to think - outside a book, spreadsheet, formula or academic theory. I took a lot of liberal arts classes in college, including honors courses in things like Medieval History, History of WWII, and “The Philosophy of Death of Dying.” This when I was also a big-time party girl…go figure. But even when I was doing my best to kill as many brain cells as possible every night, I also loved to think, just for fun. (I can still discourse for several minutes on the four kinds of bubonic plague and the impact of it on European political structure. No, no, come back! I won’t do it here, whew!)

So, what’s your power? And how has it helped you in life and business? Hey, it’s Friday, have a little fun with it.

Gotta go do some of that thinking stuff now…Y’all have a great Friday and weekend.

I failed 5 of 7 subjects in my first semester at Uni. Best thing that *ever* happened to me.
I learnt, the hard way, that failure is not the end of road. You just get up, dust yourself off and keep on trucking. End result? I’m not afraid to try new things. May lose a few and waste time, but the ones that work have all paid off hugely.
I compare with my wife who always blitzed everything she’s put her hand/mind to. And is terrified of doing anything *really hard*. In case she fails. :-(

    It works for me!
    Cheers!

Mary–Nifty! You have a way with you. Like everything else, the real joy of doing anything comes from the mastery of it. So I reckon that, if you love thinking, then you are (would have to be) very good at it. As evidenced by your post! It’s not your background that propels it. It is what you are up to in your thoughts about your next thoughts.
