But We’re Not Amazon.
Amazon doesn’t advertise (stopped back in 2003). Small businesses often do - and complain they don’t see any results.
Certainly, none of us small biz folks have Amazon’s deep pockets and killer web site. However, when they began, they didn’t either. (And Google was started by two brainy immigrants with credit cards…)
Check out Jeffrey Eisenberg’s post, Should You Cancel All Your Advertising? in which he talks about Amazon. Here’s a money quote from Jeff Bezos:
“So we start with customers, figure out what they want, and figure out how to get it to them.”
Hmmm….now, we can do that, can’t we?
