“I’m too busy to give you a quote.”
A follow-on to my post, Small-Biz Snafus, in which I relate my problems with a local printer in trying to get a round biz card printed.
One of my super-pro, super-dependable suppliers, “Ellie” volunteered to help me in my ongoing quest for the fabled Schmidt round biz cards. (with no money in it for her, mind you.) So, Ellie called another local printer who has done jobs for her in the past. Here’s what Ellie emailed me today:
“My local contact flaked out on me….so, one more down. She never got the quote to me and when I called she told me she was too busy.”
I’m just going to let that one lay there…;-)
P.S. Do I really need to tell you that this “too busy” printer has moaned to me about the tough online competition? Naaahhhhh.
Update: This printer recently won an award for entrepreneurship - guess she wasn’t too busy to return the magazine’s phone calls, heh.

[…] Ironic isn’t it, that I’m complaining that these people aren’t calling - when I rant so much about cold sales calls. But that’s the thing - these wouldn’t be cold calls. I’ve already been a (happy) customer and the “outside stuff” always needs to be done. Which brings me to one of the major reasons why small businesses struggle. They don’t follow up with the customers they already have. Related Post: I’m too busy to give you a quote. […]
