Don’t Bother Us - We Don’t Need Any More Business
From the “How NOT To Do Business on the Web” file
In my now seemingly endless quest for custom round business cards - I went on the Web - did a search for “round business cards.”
The one that looked really great (custom designs, cool graphics), www.phrizbie-design.com, tells me this when I click on “contact”

Ouch! Here’s hoping their current customers stay with them forever.
They could have posted something like, “We’re a small artisan shop - and we’re fully booked right now. If you can wait until March, we’d love to talk to you about your graphic projects.”
I can’t wait until March but I’d have noted their site address and kept them in mind for other projects, including some potentially huge ones for clients.
Sigh
BIG Sigh. This is also a woman-owned business. And, the women are probably way cool to work with in the real world.

Mary,
Unfortunately this type of thing is not all that uncommon. Take a look at what I found on Macy’s website during the peak holiday shopping times in December. http://mikeschaffner.typepad.com/michael_schaffner/2007/12/dumbest-interne.html

Thanks, Mike
At least Macy’s tried to be polite. Another example of companies just not grokking doing biz on the Web. In the brick and mortar stores, they wouldn’t lock the doors and say “come back later” during peak shopping season, but yet somehow they didn’t plan for peak biz on their web site.
