Can You Spot What’s Wrong?
Yesterday, while I was waiting for a couple of people to join me for lunch…I sat on a bench in the glorious sunshine…all was right with the world…I pulled out the AIBA (Albuquerque Independendent Business Alliance) directory, to review changes we need to make next time…YIKES! spotted something wrong on the cover.
I then showed the piece to three other people, including two professional marketers and NONE of them spotted the mistake (although they did give some good feedback on other things that we should change.)
What was it? You’ve already seen it.
People see what they expect or want to see – and that goes for everything from products to brochure text.
A fledgling entrepreneur looks at his idea and sees an amazing, dramatically different product that will make millions.
An investor looks at the idea and sees something that’s only slightly different than what’s already out there and will take millions to bring to market.
So – if you’re the person/group who put together a business plan, go-to-market plan…directory…whatever…have someone else review it, upside down, right side up…and literally backwards.
(It should be “Independent.”)

“…sees an amazing, dramatically product…”
It should be “dramatic” or “dramatically different”
Ahh! You caught one in the post…what about the other one?
Pick me, pick me!
