Fail Faster!

Well, is that title depressing or what? Yet, if you’re going to fail – the faster you do it, the sooner you can move on to something that will work.

And, haven’t we all worked with companies that suffered prolonged death agonies? Nobody was happy – including the depressed, totally unmotivated employees (Who has time for customers? We’re feverishly sending out resumes.)…investors (who get testy when they’re continually treated like open wallets with no end in sight)…and customers (If there were any. They wondered: a. Why doesn’t anyone return my phone calls? and b. Is this company even going to be around when I need help?)

So, give it your best shot. Be fearless. Then move on, with lessons learned, if it doesn’t work.

One Response to “Fail Faster!”

  1. Paul McKeon says:

“Fail faster” is great advice for thought leaders–or wannabe thought leaders. Too many companies call themselves “thought leaders” without being fearless–as leaders must be.

As Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon.com, famously said: “To be a leading company, you have to have a willingness to be misunderstood.”

“Is Anybody Following Your Thought Leadership” is a espouses the “fail faster” philosophy: http://www.contentfactor.com/library/content/anybody-following-your-thought-leadership
